The Drugstore
This morning I stopped at the corner drugstore to pick up allergy medicine. I sat at the soda counter and ordered a taco, and as I waited for the cook to whip it up, I took in my surroundings: old wooden booths…a mish-mash of people sitting next to each other at the counter, eating fried eggs with ham and toast… hand-lettered signs… a display of candy sticks… a bin of ice...
